Confession: I’m eating too much
My excuses for eating too much at the moment could include:
And whilst all of the above is true, I really think what’s getting me right now is the snacking. It started a year ago when my back gave up on me and I was confined to a bed for quite some time. What do you do with all that time on your hands? Well, if you’re like me you snack. A little bit of this, a little bit of that, a little bit of this with that and before you know it you’re in a habit. A bad habit.
And so to break this bad habit, I’m reprogramming: cutting back a little, choosing different snacks (there absolutely no point in telling myself that I won’t snack because I know I will). No diets though; diets don’t work – too much deprivation (which should be avoided at all costs). And I don’t have to look too far for recipes that are light but still tasty, they’re all here. I just need to plan better (and perhaps exercise a little self control.....). I’ve written about it in my weekly spot at Village Voices. And in the theme of lighter food, I thought I’d bring you one of my favourite pasta dishes: Roasted Pepper Pasta. The vegetables are roasted which seems to intensify the flavour, making the sauce lip-smackingly good. Honestly, my toes curl in anticipation of making it, it’s that good.
