Search tips
Our search works by looking for an exact match to your search terms.
The Moodie General Search
The Moodie general search is designed for those of you who have been here before and know the name of the dish, or just know that you need lasagne or pizza. All you need to do is type the name in the box provided and everything with that word in the recipe title will appear.
The Moodie Advanced Search
The Moodie advanced search is designed to help you be a little more particular enabling you to search by mood, time of day, ingredient and/or occasion. Just tick what you want to include. The more ticks you have, the more tailored and selective the search will be.
Also, some recipes belong to two or more moods. For example, a dish that is naturally Exotic like San Choi Bao, can also belong in Extreme Virtue because it has under 5 grams of fat. It may also belong in Ravenous Wrath because it can be made in under 20 minutes. So if you are looking for something virtuously light, just tick Extreme Virtue in the Advanced Search and everything that has less than 5 grams of fat will pop up. LIkewise, if you are starving, just tick Ravenous Wrath and you'll see everything that can be cooked in 20 minutes or under.
Examples:
A pretty general search:
You feel like chicken for dinner and don’t care if it’s spicy, comforting or indulgent. Just tick Chicken and all the chicken dishes will pop up.
A specific search:
You feel like something Asian for dinner with chill, garlic, ginger etc. Just tick Exotic and Mains and Asian and voila!
A really specific search:
You want something really quick, need a carb hit that only pasta can give and can’t stand the thought of meat today. Just tick Ravenous and Pasta and Vegetarian and it will bring up all the dishes that match that search.
A really, really specific search:
You need a chocolate dessert for the picky foodie visitors who are arriving in an hour! Just tick Indulgent and Chocolate and Dessert, and you’ll be fine.
